Snow!!

Everyone Loves Snow!!!

This is the most snow I have ever seen in one sitting! It's quite fantastic. Not quite as much as some of ya'll are getting up in ND, but still enough to make me smile :)

Outside the dorm

Over Looking Behind The Stadium.

My favorite! Over Looking All Of ASU Campus.

Behind Bowie ((My Dorm))

I had to leave Thanksgiving Break early as most of you know, for this:

Some pretty great teams were there like: Iowa State (Number 1 in the Nation), LeHigh Unv., Central Michigan, UNC-G, Drexel, Bucknell, VMI, Oklahoma State (Ranked 5th), and quite a few others. We didn't do too well. Went 1 and 3 for the whole day but that's expected when you get an unranked team up against many nationally rank wrestlers. Oh well, better luck next year.

Finals are next week, wish me luck!

I'll be home for about 4 weeks which will be a great and much needed break. :)

Just to catch things up....

Hey! I know it's been about forever since I've done this thing, but Grandma informed me that I didn't always have to upload pictures when I wanted to update so! I won't this time!

I switched roommates yesterday;; I just moved up to the 9th floor of Bowie. Things just weren't clicking on the 6th floor and I really needed a change in roommates. So, the opportunity came up for me to switch and I took it :) Quite proud that it only took my an hour to pack then about two to unpack.

We have our last regular season home football game on Saturday against Elon. If we win this one, we get first seed in the playoffs and a home turf advantage for a game :)

I went back to Hendersonville this past weekend just to catch up on some much needed sleep and see a few friends. It was nice to have a break from school and all the drama that is intailed.

Off to the books, I can't wait til Christmas! :)

Inspiration from Home

I had to write a poem for class today. It was supposed to be about Where I'm From and we had to relate it to this poem writen by an Appalachian Writer. I was actually pretty impressed with what I managed to come up with, and since most of you are my family and know where I grew up :) You might enjoy this...

I am from the boondocks
From backwoods and four-wheeling
I am from the love of two people
(Strong, courageous, and
Forever long)
I am from the apple trees
The tobacco fields
Whose smell I remember
As if I had never left

I’m from eyeglasses and dreams
From Betty Crocker and Martha Stewart
I’m from the folk story tellers
And blue grass singers
From sit up straight and quiet down

I’m from two different religions
Strict and relaxed
From the grandfather I lost
To cancer

In my closet, there’s a box
Holding all my memories
All the old friends
The love of my grandma
From where I’m from
To where I will be.

JACKSONVILLE vs ASU

Here are some pictures from the first home game of the season. Jacksonville Florida vs Appalachian State.

This is the Black && Gold Community. The houseing Residence that I live it. We're kind of like the spirit community. :) It's a lot of fun.

The team before the game

The band. 310 Members. They are so terrific.

Both teams prayed together after the game.

Final Score. Much better than the LSU game. Hope all of htem are this nice!!
Take care--

First Week At Appalachian State

Hey! Well I was pretty much talked into this... I didn't put up much of a fight, as you can tell. I promise to update when I can.

My first week away from home wasn't TOO terrible! I started to miss home when almost 90% of the students here went home for their labor day weekend. I sadly stayed but so did some of the other girls on my floor so we decided to make the best of it. Here are a couple pictures :)

These are some of the girls and a random boy from my dorm. All the girls are from my hall. My RA (Resident Assistant) is the lady in red. We were on our way to the parkway to make smores. YUMMY :)

This is my roommate, Laura. She's from Shelby, NC. Her major is Studio Art (for now)

Here's part of our dorm. We decided to bunk our beds so that we would have more room. And I don't mind climbing up to go to bed. It actually saved us a ton of room.

These are our desks and fabulous fridge! She brought the TV and I brought the DVD player. Which is a great asset to have because some of my friends down stairs have the ENTIRE series of Scrubs (my favorite show :) )

Our First HOME Appalachian State football game is this Saturday @ 3:30pm. It is against Jacksonville and is National Champions Day. As with this team having THREE National Championships, it's going to be a BIG day. I promise lots of pictures!

Hope to see or hear from most of you soon! Grandma is coming up on Sunday (National Grandparents Day) to have lunch with Richard and I. Can't wait!

--Talk to you soon!
